TEHRAN – Mashhad Friday prayer leader Seyyed Ahmad Alamolhoda has said Iranian authorities should be aware that Europe is not apart from the U.S. in its animosity toward the Iranian nation, Mehr reported.

Addressing worshippers, Alamolhoda said, “Some of the country’s officials have clung to Europe and insist that they remain in BARJAM (the 2015 nuclear deal). Wasn’t seven months of experience enough for you?”

He criticized the parliament for passing the CFT, a legislation to combat financing of terrorism, saying such legislations are against Iran’s independence and security.

The cleric also said Washington’s enmity toward Iran and Iranians dates back to 65 years ago, when the U.S. orchestrated the 1953 coup.
